CBDCs: Potential Impact on Bank Profitability, Asset and Risk Management and Financial Stability (22-05-27)/LSE FMG

In this paper we discuss whether or not the introduction of CBDCs may impact the profitability of banks and their ability to accumulate capital buffers. We also asses wider financial stability risks, including those potentially deriving from cyber attacks to central banks and discuss the implications for asset and risk management and for monetary policy.
