<Abstract>

The purpose of this study is to suggest you to view TV history dramas as a sort of ‘historical narrative’ and examine the historical aspects of ancient Korea and Goguryeo depicted in Chinese TV history dramas after the Northeast Project. To reveal the historical context melted in the narrative of historical dramas as a ‘faction’, it is necessary to analyze them not with ‘facts’ but with ‘historical facts’ constructed by historians as a reference. Through this, it is possible to look into in what points those works are differentiated from the historical narrative of that system.
This thesis examines Chinese dramas such as , , and , and each of them reveals a narrative structure deviating from ‘historical facts’ in different directions according to the intention of those works set on their own. In , you can see the historical aspects of ‘historical facts’ descried by the Chinese media then under the great influence of the Northeast Project. Meanwhile, with and , you can find their tendencies of reducing the existence of Goguryeo in those works as much as possible through ‘the intentional degradation’ of Goguryeo and also ‘the reduction and exclusion of the narrative.’
