 아그텔레크와 슬로바키아 카르스트 동굴군[ Caves of Aggtelek and Slovak Karst ] - 헝가리( Hungary)

슬로바키아와 헝가리 국경을 사이에 두고 있는 지역으로서 면적 558㎢이고, 현재까지 712개의 석회암동굴이 발견되었다.

헝가리와 슬로바키아의 국경을 이어주는 바라둘라도미차 동굴은 약 25km에 이르는데, 길이 여러 갈래로 나누어지거나 이어지면서 헝가리 영토 쪽으로 걸쳐 있다. 이곳에는 유럽의 동굴 가운데 가장 아름답고 큰 종유석과 석순이 있는데, 그중 '천체관측소'는 높이 25m, 지름 8m이고 무게 약 1,000t에 이르는 세계 최대의 석순이다. 1995년 유네스코(UNESCO)에서 세계자연유산으로 지정하였다.
